Plum Creek is the largest and most geographically diverse private landowner in the nation.

Our primary business is to actively manage our timberlands to capture the most value from every acre we own. That means owning timberlands in the most robust markets, making prudent investments in the growth of our timberland assets and harvesting trees at the best "economically mature" point in the life cycle of a tree.

We manage our timberlands following sustainable forestry practices, and sell timber or logs to customers throughout the United States. Our customers manufacture a variety of wood, pulp and paper products that serve the everyday needs of people worldwide.

By acquiring attractive timberlands and using advanced silviculture practices, we improve the productivity of our forests, which adds to our timber inventory. The company works to maximize the value of all its assets, which include timberland, wood products manufacturing facilities and natural resources.

Plum Creek is a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). Investing in a timber REIT is an ideal way to own timberlands. The company is the first and largest publicly-held timber REIT.
